When the local Council won’t provide the crown land to allow a football stadium to be built, Dan, a Capitalist approaches the newly elected Socialist Councillor Neville Black to support them. He does it to push the cause of Socialism. Together with Dan’s wife Madelyn, and her sister Pam, they come together putting ideology aside. Their friendship grows over the years, as does their desire to get the Stadium. They run a team for Council, they celebrate the birth of Neville Black’s child and then they confront the travail of one of them getting a serious illness.
Following the success of The Broken Streamer and Nina Simone – Black Diva Power award winning playwright Neil Cole brings a play about people coming together for a common purpose and sharing the triumphs and tribulations of that effort and of life itself. They share a bond that will shape them forever, and they will discover life is never what it seems and how difficult it is to choose when to keep fighting and when to stop.
