The 24th Boite Singersʼ Festival at Daylesford starts on Thursday evening with a film showing at the Rex Cinema, Daylesfordʼs newest cultural attraction. The Joys of the Women, a TV documentary by Franko Di Chiera first shown in 1993, brought Kavisha Mazzella to national prominence.

You can spend a delicious day with Kavisha Mazzella, Stephen Taberner or Bart Willoughby, Jane Thompson and James Rigby, then sing in the jam packed Friday Showcase Concert.

Early risers can start their days with yoga. You then have 35 singing workshops, three more Rex Cinema sessions, another four concerts, a BYO Georgian feast and a dance jam to choose from.
Note the family friendly stream of workshops and the songwriting stream.

If you want to learn some Georgian songs for the supra, check out Nino and Josephʼs workshops during the day. The Choirs Concert is the throbbing heart of the festival. The songwriters blackboard concert is where the bravest people gather.

The Rex sessions include an environmental exploration of the antarctic, a Rage session of the Harpoons favourite video clips, and a session showing the Tecoma community protest against McDonalds development.
In the Grand Finale every tutor presents two sublime workshop songs with their groups, we draw the raffle with its huge prizes and conclude the festival with unseemly emotional outpourings to anthemic songs and cuddly dances.

We have a wonderful crew of staff, committee members and volunteers to make things run smoothly, and there are people in Arts Victoria, City of Melbourne, Victorian Multicultural Commission and Hepburn Shire helping us to put it on.

So come on down, bring your friends and recharge your batteries for a brilliant 2014.
