SONS OF ZION
With their fusion of reggae, rock, dub and roots, Sons of Zion are a talented 6-piece band, comprising of young Rangitahi from various locations in New Zealand. Since their debut gig at the beginning of 2007, Sons of Zion have continued to build momentum, taking out the Soundsplash Band comp, opening for acts such as Katchafire, Cornerstone Roots, Kora, House of Shem and The Black Seeds and playing at festivals such as Raggamuffin, Exodus and Selective Soundz.

Sons Of Zion are committed to making music that you can't help but skank to.

SOLA ROSA
With six albums under his belt, a raft of accolades and well over a decade of producing genre-splitting music, Andrew Spraggon’s work as Sola Rosa has cemented him as one of the world’s most exciting and versatile producers. From a humble, self-released one man project, Sola Rosa has grown to a live collective of international repute. Successfully melding hip hop, reggae, jazz, latin, soul and funk, the group have never sat comfortably in one box, but with Spraggon’s guidance, that restlessness has been channelled into six succinct albums.

In New Zealand, the album reached the number one spot on iTunes and the Independent NZ Music Album Chart (where it stayed for four months). It reached number 15 on the NZ Album Chart, and eventually went on to achieve Gold status.

HOLLIE SMITH
Hollie Smith is one of New Zealand 's most predominant and celebrated musicians. After working with numerous bands including Trinity Roots, Fat Freddys Drop and Detroit dance legend Recloose, she was approached by NZ royalty Don Mcglashan to perform on a movie soundtrack single Bathe in The River that topped the NZ charts and became one of the biggest and iconic singles in NZ history.

This set the stage for her debut album Long Player which went straight to #1 on the NZ charts. This multi-platinum selling album saw her sell out national tours and take away several NZ music awards including ‘Best Producer’, ‘Best Female Solo Artist’ and ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’.

Her follow up album Humour & the Misfortune of Others also hit #1, receiving rave reviews, numerous award nominations and selling out tours. During this time Hollie also supported international acts such as Bob Dylan, Coldplay & Simply Red.

MARK VANILAU
Samoan Mark Vanilau is a multi-instrumentalist with a velveteen voice and a unique approach to harmonies. Best-known in New Zealand as a session musician (he’s a regular member of Dave Dobbyn’s band, and has played with Trinity Roots, Hollie Smith, Eru Dangerspiel, Ladi6 and Scribe) he has stepped into the spotlight with his new band and a wealth of songs. His first single spoke of the tradition of passing life-stories down through the generations.

WHIRI TŪ AKA
2012 saw five strong wahine Maori join together to form the Aotearoa based a cappella group Whiri Tu Aka. Performing only in Te reo Maori, the group use only their voices to create a full range of timbres and textures. Te Reo Maori is a language built for music, and music is built into the language. The essence of their music is the traditional values, creativity, innovation, uniqueness, authenticity, quality and originality that is brought together with a strong Maori cultural influence and elements that are at the forefront of Maori music.
