Stephen Pigram
Stephen Pigram is a Yawuru singer and songwriter from Broome in the Kimberley. As one seventh of the influential Pigram Brothers, Stephen has released several albums of their unique saltwater music. As well as singing, Stephen plays guitar, harmonica, requinto, vahlia, ukulele and dulcimer. An early pioneer of Aboriginal rock, Stephen has been a member of legendary Broome bands Kuckles and Scrap Metal and was musical director for the original production of the first Aboriginal musical, Bran Nue Dae.
His song Feel Like Going Home is an anthem in the Kimberleys and has traveled widely as part of The Black Arm Band’s repertory. Recently he produced and scored the feature film Mad Bastards which premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.
