Canberra’s operatic spectacular, Voices in the Forest, will return for its third concert to the National Arboretum Canberra on Saturday, 23 November 2013.
This year’s concert will be a magnificent musical showcase to celebrate Canberra’s Centenary. Presenting a superb line up of the finest Australian singers featuring our very own, internationally acclaimed, Yvonne Kenny, one of the most distinguished sopranos of her generation. She will be joined by Emma Matthews, Australia’s finest coloratura soprano and Rosario La Spina, a thrilling Italianate tenor in the mold of Pavarotti.
The headline performers will be accompanied by the Voices in the Forest Orchestra, which showcases Canberra’s leading instrumentalists, and will be directed by the inspirational Roland Peelman.
Plus a very special performance by the Centenary’s Creative Director, Robyn Archer who will entertain with her own unique style of performance.
The program will also feature the Voices in the Forest Youth Choir made up of Canberra’s best young singers and Oriana Chorale, one of Canberra’s leading adult chamber choirs.
This year’s Voices in the Forest concert will yet again be filled with beautiful voices and stunning performances of a program of well-known operatic arias and Australian songs for a uniquely Australian musical experience.
Gates open at 1.30pm with the concert starting at 4.45pm.
