Focusing on rebirth and rejuvenation a 19th-century masterpiece is juxtaposed with works composed after two World Wars had changed the face of the globe irrevocably. The lush romanticism of Brahms may seem out of place to composers such as Penderecki. Nonetheless, great art will always find a way to flourish with optimism, hope and passion burning throughout all of these wonderful works.
