WILLIAM BARTON, WORLD RENOWN DIDJERIDU PLAYER LENDS HIS SUPPORT TO RISING JAZZ STAR ELLY HOYT

Best kept Melbourne Secret, world renown didjeridu player William Barton will play in a humble Northcote Church hall on Sunday 28 July 2pm Benefit Concert in support of local rising Jazz artist Elly Hoyt.

Come and experience a once in a life time performance from Elly Hoyt and William Barton as they team up at the Northcote Uniting Church. The proceeds from this special event will help Elly create her next album in collaboration with international artists in New York later this year.

Tasmanian-born, Elly consistently captures audiences with her soulful and seductive voice. At only 26, she has the uncanny ability to invoke the charge given to past greats and take it somewhere new.

William Barton is one of the worlds leading didjeridu players and composers and is a powerful advocate for the wider perception of his cultural traditions. He is a truly captivating artist.

Through the medium of music, and his capacity for communication, William has embraced thousands of non-indigenous people all over the planet, sharing his culture and enriching not only western classical music, but other genres as well, even adding a unique "voice" to rock anthems like 'Great Southern Land'.

What a voice Elly has - AMAZING! William's didj playing was top notch, so incredible! Could have listened for hours and only wished he was selling a CD as well, so I could relive the moment. Didn't know what to expect of the venue, but was happily surprised by the community hall. I thought the drinks and antipasto table was an unexpected, but nice and welcome touch. Saw a poster for another performance in the hall for Friday night, and am anxiously looking forward to my return trip!!!

A pleasant Sunday afternoon in the company of two talented artists and their supporting musicians. Elly will be a hit in NY and will most likely go onto new horizons. William already has credentials and is an accomplished didjeridu master. Loved their work together and was delighted to see Fem Belling there supporting local talent. A well organised event for Elly!
