Best kept Melbourne Secret, world renown didjeridu player William Barton will play in a humble Northcote Church hall on Sunday 28 July 2pm Benefit Concert in support of local rising Jazz artist Elly Hoyt.
Come and experience a once in a life time performance from Elly Hoyt and William Barton as they team up at the Northcote Uniting Church. The proceeds from this special event will help Elly create her next album in collaboration with international artists in New York later this year.
Tasmanian-born, Elly consistently captures audiences with her soulful and seductive voice. At only 26, she has the uncanny ability to invoke the charge given to past greats and take it somewhere new.
William Barton is one of the worlds leading didjeridu players and composers and is a powerful advocate for the wider perception of his cultural traditions. He is a truly captivating artist.
Through the medium of music, and his capacity for communication, William has embraced thousands of non-indigenous people all over the planet, sharing his culture and enriching not only western classical music, but other genres as well, even adding a unique "voice" to rock anthems like 'Great Southern Land'.
