Don't miss the much anticipated return of Tal and his quartet as they perform a selection of tunes and arrangements, including Cohen’s own promising and innovative original work.
Tal’s unique piano style has its roots in Jewish folk songs and classical music, which he played from a young age growing up in Israel. After relocating to Perth at the age of 16, he took up a music scholarship at Churchlands Senior High School and later pursued studies in jazz improvisation at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Many national and international jazz icons recognize his improvisational and technical expertise, including George Garzone, who Cohen performed with in August.
Simply put in the words of Garzone, “Tal is a very talented and disciplined piano improviser. He is a special talent that needs to be heard... check him out.”
Pretty good!
