TEK TEK Ensemble | Boite World Music Cafe

TEK TEK ensemble is a festive anthropological mini-orchestra consisting of three guys and three girls playing trumpet, trombone, violins, percussion, guitars, double bass, piano accordion, and the human voice. A visual pleasure, the ensemble’s colour and flair are matched by outstanding musicianship.

TEK TEK ensemble experiments and creates new compositions with inspiration from exotic music from across the globe. They draw inspiration from 20’s Parisienne swing, cumbia, soul, tangos and tarantellas. The encyclopaedic repertoire of the ensemble is bound by the strict yet simple stipulation of danceability.

The Boite World Music Café, at Box Hill Community Arts Centre, offers the rare opportunity to be swept up by the gypsyesque good vibes of TEK TEK Ensemble on the East-side of Melbourne.
