Henry Joseph left Los Angeles for Australia in 2010 to realize a musical vision.
He began collaborating with producer Jonathan Zion. “When I first heard Henry Joseph’s music, I knew he was the real deal.” Two and a half years and three albums later, Henry Joseph and the Victorys are going to perform some of the tracks they recorded in the studio. This magical fusion of Henry’s singular style with this unique group creates beautifully haunting melodies and energetic grooves. His lyrics are deceptively simple, yet multilayered with symbolic meaning. Henry Joseph’s music moves through genres to create its own authentic style.
The Victorys consists of Jonathan Zion, bass, Danny Farrugia, drums and Luke Howard, keyboard,(a.k.a. The Luke Howard Trio) combined with iconic Australian rock n’ roll guitarist Claude Carranza(The Black Sorrows). Danny Farrugia has previously performed with Tin Pan Orange, and The Bamboos. Jonathan Zion has played bass for numerous artists including Ian Moss, Pete Murray and Neil Finn.
Henry Joseph and the Victorys will debut their original music live at the Thornbury Theatre in Northcote on Thursday, June 13. They will perform 15 songs, 4 songs from the soon to be released third album. The show opens with special guest David Cosma.
Great backing band and cool vocals. Amazingly small audience for the quality.
