ALBARE Quintet RHYTHM SECTION IS TURBO CHARGED!
As his international tour approaches its end, Albare has transformed his band, iTD from a quartet into a quintet for the final show of the tour, at Sydney Opera House on Sunday, May 5, adding Yunior Terry, the New York-based Cuban bassist to his ensemble, whilst retaining Australian Phil Rex, also on the bass.
The quintet rhythm section now comprises New York-based Venezuelan drummer, Pablo Bencid, Phil Rex and Yunior Terry on bass, Phil Turcio on piano and Albare on guitars.
Albare presented this formation last week at the Melbourne Recital Centre, to a rapturous audience who filled The Salon.
Albare, known as a pioneer of Acid Jazz is also known for his deep grooves and infectious melodies, is particularly excited to present this new line-up, featuring two double-bass players: "The extraordinary playing with these groove masters is by far the deepest rhythms I have experienced in my entire career", says Albare.
