Joel Tito in The Trial & Death of Socrates (No Relation)

Moosehead Award Recipient 2013

After a critically acclaimed sell-out Melbourne Fringe Festival, Vigilantelope’s award-winning idiot returns to combine clowning, music, silence and singing in this darkly euphoric narrative that is as cerebral as it is silly. Don’t worry, the show has no philosophy. Maybe a bit. But that’s it.

Joel took two years to develop his show by studying clown under a Parisian psychopath and belting out enka classics alongside a Japanese juggernaut. Although he has been training informally as a stupid idiot for 27 years, he sought formal accreditation from the world’s most renowned clown teacher – Phillippe Gaulier – who trained the likes of Sacha Baron Cohen. He now has that piece of paper in a plastic pocket in his sock drawer. Well done mate.

"Funny, irreverent & smart." Herald Sun

"A comedian unafraid to go wherever imaginative humour dictates." Crikey

Totally off the wall but just go with it and you'll enjoy the overall experience. Great show. Make sure you arrive early though as getting tickets at the box office was a bit of an ordeal.
