The Broken Streamer

The Broken Streamer

By Award Winning Playwright Neil Cole. Directed by Lucy Freeman.

The Broken Streamer tells the story of one family who are one of seven hundred survivors of the Lodz Ghetto in Poland, where 240,000 Jews were killed in the Second World War. This play tells the story of their arrival in their new home Australia, how they settled in, and to life after the horrors of war.

Featuring a stellar cast Sarah Plummer, Natasha Guzel, Clara Pagone, Dean Gunera, Anita Torrance, Tom Baron and Steven Sheeran. The Broken Streamer has contemporary relevance for so many migrants and refugees today, as it highlights how Australia is a culturally diverse country and all the better for it.

a most moving play, well acted

Excellent play, absolutely credible - I know as my parents had a similar background to the protagonists in the play. Well worth seeing, sensitively directed, well cast and acted - although the choice of music was not to my taste.

belkaru

Very sensitively written and presented story of the difficulties of migration.

Coldflame

High Quality show, just lacked a sense of dynamic in the writing. Could've easily have started in Australia rather than going into so much detail at the beginning.

I have seen a Neil Cole Play before and again, I loved this one. I don't know anything about war and history and I actually learnt things whilst feeling the suffering that this family endured. I was entertained and moved.
