At least that’s how Mak Gondut (Bataknese for “fat mother”) sees it. For Ucok is a fascinating comedy film telling a story about Mak Gondut, a Bataknese mother, and her ambitious daughter, Gloria. Mak Gondut compels Gloria to live her life according to those 3 duties, while being a passionate filmmaker herself, Gloria disagrees as she wants to pursue her dreams of being a great filmmaker.



A comedic story about a mother who has a bordering obsession to find her daughter a husband. On the other hand, rather than stepping into a marriage, her daughter prefers to follow her passion in making films but faces some financial problems, that only her mother can save her.
