The Tuxedo and The Little Black Dress

The Tuxedo and The Little Black Dress

Written by Louis Nowra & Stewart D’Arrietta

A man and a woman are suddenly trapped together after an earthquake hits the ballroom of a grand Edwardian hotel. Jack Clayton and Anouk Bannister are two strangers forced into each other’s company as they await rescue. This is a musical about love and betrayal, romance and the resilience of the human spirit.

The Tuxedo and The Little Black Dress is co-written by Louis Nowra (creator of Cosi and the libretto for the Victorian Opera Company’s Midnight Son) and Stewart D’Arrietta (co-creator of the hugely successful Looking Through A Glass Onion with John Waters, composer of Justin Fleming’s Satango and BBC radio play Echo Point).

Rebecca Mendoza plays Anouk. Her credits include Miss Saigon, Hair, Showboat, Fame, the Japanese production of We Will Rock You, the Toronto Production of The Lord of the Rings as Lady Galadriel and appeared as Queen Breha Organa in Star Wars Episode III.

Stewart D’Arrietta also plays the role of Jack. His critically acclaimed show Tom Waits for No Man was a huge success at the Edinburgh and the Montreal Jazz Festivals as well as here in Australia and New York.

The Tuxedo and The Little Black Dress is directed by Christopher Parker.
