Oh so thoroughly enjoyable ! Emotional, absolutely hilarious too, shows inequality and disrespect in stark detail.
Julian Dennison's comic timing shines as does his handling of raw and confused emotions. Fabulous film - go see it.

Ka Pai!!! As an 80s Kiwi kid I only remember the blood, bricks, motor bike helmets and cricket bats with nails in them. This film does a beautiful job of showing, almost peripherally, the violence of South Africa, New Zealand people and the New Zealand police, as it shows a boy finding his way. The tino rangatiratanga battles were lost on me in the 80s. Australians should watch this film.

Uproar at Rivoli. A feel good film with a strong message which supports equality, community and a stronger + bonded society. A New Zealand set film whose issues + solutions can be applied to many countries. It takes a brave few to spread the message and make it understood by many which translates to positive change for all.
