INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR

INSIDIOUS: THE RED DOOR

In Insidious: The Red Door, the horror franchise’s original cast returns for the final chapter of the Lambert family’s terrifying saga. To put their demons to rest once and for all, Josh (Patrick Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go deeper into The Further than ever before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors that lurk behind the red door.
The original cast from Insidious is back with Patrick Wilson (also making his directorial debut), Ty Simpkins, Rose Byrne and Andrew Astor. Also starring Sinclair Daniel and Hiam Abbass. Produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan and Leigh Whannell. The screenplay is written by Scott Teems from a story by Leigh Whannell, based on characters created by Leigh Whannell.

Enjoyed the experience. Lovely big cinema and accompanying snacks. Thought it was the better one of the movie franchise. Great acting and good progression of the story. The ending seemed abrupt/rushed.

Big Al

Highly recommend this movie

It was a great and enjoyable event with nice drinks. However, the movie is not scary as a horror film but it is still a very good movie.

helen

Not bad, a few good scares. Worth seeing if you're a horror fan.

For me it was not scary enough, however the sound effects and screenplay was just as good as other parts.

A fun return to the Lambert family! So great to see the original cast back together and while not the strongest entry, it was enjoyable and did justice to the series. And I am always relieved by a happy ending to a horror movie (choosing not to overthink the post-credits scene!).

Stoich

It was not as scary as the others, the popcorn and drinks is always a winner thanks but the movie was a little disappointing as I have seen the whole franchise of the insidious, and this one seemed rushed. I give it a 3 out of 5

Jessiegirl

Very interesting and kept me on my seat throughout. The suspension build was intense but I suppose one must accept that in this type of movie. Thanks for the opportunity to attend

Stephanie

It wasn’t as scary as the others but it was ok

Judith

Thanks for putting on a great event, a free drink & popcorn was a nice touch! Having not seen any of the previous Insidious movies, I was not sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the film, definitely was scared a few times, along with lots of other people. I particularly liked the way the plot came together at the end, very satisfying!

mellen_21

Scares were good enough for the crowd to get a good kick out of it!
I had seen the first one, and my cousin hadn't seen any. Plot was enough to understand what was happening.
The event is always good fun!

Ashley

Great event, similar to The Pope's Exorcist.

Solid movie, great scares, good direction from Patrick Wilson and great way to finish a franchise!

Andres

The event was really nice, popcorn and drink is always a winner. The movie wasn’t as good as I expected, a few scary / shocking moments but the plot I found it really poor.

Linty

Great movie !!

Alicia

An excellent movie! A few scary and shocking moments throughout that kept people on the edge of their seats. I had seen the first movie and thought this one tied in nicely. I also really liked the ending with the picture the son drew of his dad carrying him out of the darkness. Overall a brilliant movie with a good turn out and I thought the free popcorn and drink was a nice touch, thank you!

Never know whether to give an opinion of the event itself or a movie review :) Event itself was well presented as per usual - complimentary Coke and Popcorn always go down a treat, and good to see a full cinema where everyone is eagerly watching the film (and no-one is talking or being idiots). Also entertaining to watch everyone jump in unison at various moments.

The movie itself - having not seen the previous Insidious movies, went into this one blind not knowing the story or what to expect. The M rating is a bit lower than what I'd normally watch - however overall the movie was captivating and enjoyable throughout. There were a few scenes that were clearly nods to previous films, which didn't make much sense in the context of this film - but this can be forgiven knowing this is likely why they're included (and ultimately don't really make much difference to the overall story). Casting is top-notch, with great performances by all involved... Sinclair Daniel steals the screen with many of her scenes, providing a much-needed laugh to some of the more severe/tense scenes.

Didn't realise it was part of a series until we were in the cinema, regardless, it was a great movie with a good story and cast. Others in the cinema seemed to enjoy it too.
