Presented by:
Thomas Kostakis

"Welcome to the 'DOs and DON’Ts of Doing It', the reality game show in which we observe one lucky contestant as he tries to develop a healthier relationship with sex. Will he find love? Or will he find herpes? Stay tuned as we follow him through several rounds of frivolous fun, spanning multiple years and relationships."

After coming out, Thomas discovers the idiosyncrasies of the homosexual community and frequently finds himself between a rock and a euphemistically hard place. Balancing his pelvic floor dysfunction and desire to find a long-term partner, Thomas struggles to find his footing within the community, leading to humorously questioning the worth or sacrifice of belonging.

Based on real-life events, the play blends the frivolity and playfulness of a game show with important conversations about sexual dysfunctions, internalised homophobia, and the sexual expectations of the community. Thomas Kostakis is a Physiotherapy student at the University of South Australia, hoping to raise awareness of pelvic floor dysfunctions through sharing stories of his dating and experiences, and how to seek help if needed.

Content Warnings: Mild occasional coarse language, strong frequent sexual references, drug use, graphic depiction of sex (no nudity), discussion of sexual trauma and mental health.
