LABYRINTH IN THE LIBRARY

LABYRINTH IN THE LIBRARY

An action adventure show for the whole family, set in the most powerful location on Earth – the library.

Set in 1983, which was the year of the world’s first laptop, young Hugo steals his father’s new computer and takes it to the school library to play a computer game. After almost being caught by his teacher, Hugo hides the computer in a dusty old bookcase, which spins around and throws him into an endless labyrinth. Not only is he trapped but the Golden Robot from the computer game has broken free and starts eating the library.

Helped by Merlin the Magician, Hugo must recapture the runaway robot and discover how to get home. However the only clues he has are from three books – Peter Pan, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and The Sword in the Stone.

Labyrinth in the Library is created by Mark Penzak; a performer, playwright and director who has been making theatre for over 30 years. His style features innovative sets and puppets combined with storytelling and adventure. His shows have toured extensively around Australia and overseas.

Event warnings: This event has haze effects, some infrequent/low pressure audience interaction.

Feedback/Comments

Colin

A great story, simple yet effective sets, and storytelling skill combined to present a winning combination; Young and not-so-young were enthralled. The obvious enjoyment of the audience was palpable.
