Started slow in the first half of the show but the second half was great. It was worth the wait to see the characters evolve.

Some good songs but not much story line

This was such a delight! I had no idea what I was in for (that’s how I like to see or read anything) so it took me a long time to realise it was an homage to Bob Dylan. It was just fantastic. Amazing talent, beautiful set design and compelling story!

Really good show! The songs are beautiful. It’s unique in a way that it let you learn how people lived in their lives in old times.

Margherita

The cast were fantastic singing with all their heart. It made the show. The story line was poor and couldn't be followed. It was dark just like the setting. We went as a group and sadly were disappointed.

Brig

Amazing show, very entertaining with outstanding singing & choreography. Would highly recommend it!!

Genevieve

Excellent renditions of Dylan’s ballads. Lisa McCune shines as the ageing Elizabeth.

Fantastic show. Music was amazing

Storey was ok. But music was great

Doug

Didn't enjoy this at all, whilst performances by cast were all great this runs more like a play than a musical I was expecting. The story itself goes nowhere and makes no sense and as the other reviewer mentioned is anything but uplifting

Craig

The music was great but the story is not memorable. Great to see.

The music of Bob Dylan accompanies the tale of a group of people living in a boarding house in Minnesota during the Great Depression. Poignant, thought provoking and with great performances from an amazing cast and on stage band.

Sue.1982

More musical than play. Great for Bob Dylan fans.

The Girl From The North Country is great production even though it feels a little disjointed in parts. Featuring some deep cuts from the vast Dylan catalogue, each of the key cast has their moment to shine. Lisa McCune drops a stunning Like A Rolling Stone. Good to be back at the theatre. Besides, what else are you gonna do on a rainy Sunday afternoon? ????️????

Terrific singing by every soloist in this large cast. Congratulations of the high level of skilled performance! Evocative staging and costuming, redolent of the 1930s Depression era. Selection of good songs, interesting characters, some poignant cameos, the plot line was a bit of a loose mosaic.

R

Vocalists were good and the musicians too. Bob Dylan's songs and lyrics are great, as expected. Dancing was a bit hit and miss. I would not describe any of the story lines as being uplifting. The closest to uplifting is Mary Anne's. Otherwise the desperation of the 1930's was depicted well however the story lines could have been a bit more polished - the stories seemed to be contrived from a list of Dylan's excellent songs and lyrics.

Cast was great! Story was a bit sombre for my liking

Tori

So so good. Very surprising. Everyone should see it
