Mike Rudd's Indelible String Band
The legendary “ Mike Rudd” brings us an exciting new project in his forever creative and progressive career. Something that came about when Noel Kennedy, a Composer/Arranger and Conductor did a string arrangement of one of Mike’s songs: “I Can Do Anything”, and sent it to Mike; this was 2019 ; Mike and his lovely partner adored what Noel had done, and hence a relationship arose with a wonderful musical adventure to follow. This will be a truly magical event, with Mike, Noel and a String Quintet featuring some of Melbourne’s finest Classical musicians. We bring you “Mike Rudd’s Indelible String Band”.
"Early in 2019 I received the first mp3 from Noel Kennedy. It was a string arrangement of Ariel’s ‘70s single I Can Do Anything and it wasn’t just a standard version of the song with strings tacked on. I was impressed and intrigued. Since then, Noel and I have been working virtually on Noel’s selection of my songs from the Spectrum, Murtceps and Ariel eras. Now we have assembled “Mike Rudd’s Indelible String Band” featuring a string quintet comprising of some of Melbourne’s finest classical players to realise Noel’s vision.
