Audrey Powne Quartet with Special Guest Brett Williams

Audrey Powne is a name on the rise in both jazz and R&B circles following a stellar recent live set with her band for Boiler Room and her contribution to legendary BBC Radio 6 presenter's Gilles Peterson's 'Brownswood Recordings' compilation Sunny Side Up.

Premiering new material and music from her critically acclaimed solo debut “Bed I Made”, Audrey will be backed by her incredible band made up of Myka Wallace on Drums, Tim Curnick on Bass and James Bowers on Keys. Her music fuses traditional pop songwriting with elements of RnB and Hip Hop and the freedom and improvisation of jazz. Audrey's prominence as a performer on the Melbourne and International jazz scene has seen her perform alongside artists such as Maceo Parker, Vince Jones, Masta Ace, Midnight Oil and tour the US and Europe with Grammy Nominated Australian country soul band ‘The Teskey Brothers.’

Special guest Brett Williams has recently been touring with multi-Grammy-award-winning bassist Marcus Miller and is featured as a writer and performer on his latest Grammy-nominated recording, Laid Black. Brett has also played with a myriad of different artists including Ms. Lauryn Hill, Mumford and Sons, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Chris Thile, Kevin Garrett, Snarky Puppy, Robert Glasper, Sean Jones, Keyon Harrold and David Sanborn. He has also played at an impressive list of festivals including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Vienne Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival and Newport Jazz Festival among others.
