Soul Crime
Join Casula Powerhouse for an evening of Avant rock, post punk, operatic art band Soul Crime to coincide with the exhibition George Gittoes: on being there. Long-time partner and collaborator of George Gittoes is Hellen Rose, who will be performing with her new genre-defying – riot grrrl sonic art band Soul Crime. Rose has created the soundtracks to the Gittoes' documentaries White Light and Snow Monkey, and joins with the talents of Collaratura Soprano - Mary Jean O’Doherty, and one of the Australia’s most compelling guitarists and sonic artists – Michael Sheridan (Max Q, NO, Dumb and the Ugly). With psychedelic visual worlds created by Linda Dement. There will be Cantata duets, electric ambient metal, and electronica. The sound will be amazing!
Plus spinning the tunes for the evening is local hip-hop artist and songwriter St.Bedlam who will be the support act for the night starting at 7.30pm with Soul Crime coming on at 8.30pm/ Hope to see you there.
