The Seen and Unseen (Asia TOPA)

The Seen and Unseen (Asia TOPA)

★★★★ "Balinese dance an epic delight for eyes, ears and soul" - The Age

"A rich, evocative, intoxicating triumph for the senses... this extraordinary resonant work is not to be missed" - Stage Whispers

"A startlingly original contemporary work" - Witness Performance

A mesmerising convergence of contemporary Indonesian dance and physical story-telling, The Seen and Unseen is adapted by Indonesian artist Kamila Andini from her internationally acclaimed film of the same name.

Tantri and Tantra are twins born under the full moon. Inseparable in life, the line between reality and the dreamworld begins to blur as one life ebbs away and the other must begin anew.

Directed by the award-winning Andini, this dance and theatre production is a unique collaboration with Indonesian choreographer Ida Ayu Wayan Satyani and Australian theatremakers Adena Jacobs, Eugyeene Teh and Jenny Hector.

Great mix of story, movement and song.

Enchanting sound and movement, in a beautifully staged small space, with magical lighting which moves the audience between events. I would see it again given half a chance.
