SHANNON BARNETT QUARTET

Trombonist Shannon Barnett (Bell Young Jazz Artist of the Year 2007),
constructed a trio with Ben Hendry (drums) and Nashua Lee (guitar) early
last year as an outlet for compositions and arrangements by all three
members. Since performing at various venues in Sydney and Melbourne,
they have broadened the ensemble to include virtuosic bass player and
innovative composer Christopher Hale. Collectively, the band’s impressive
resume (Barney McAll’s MODAS, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joshua Roseman, The
Bamboos, Shane Warne: The Musical, Twelve Tone Diamonds, Australian
Art Orchestra, Allan Browne, Paul Grabowsky/Megan Washington Project)
spans a wide range of genres in addition to jazz and their compositions
candidly reflect that. Guest drummer Joe Talia will join the quartet for
their last performance before Barnett runs off to join Circus Oz for a year
