Italian American Reconciliation

Italian American Reconciliation

Huey Maximilian Bonfigliano has a problem – he's still stuck on his ex-wife. Even though she ripped his heart out and left him cold over three years ago, he can't be a man again until he gets her back. Enlisting the help of his best friend Aldo, Huey woos her one final time in Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley's fanciful, light-hearted, and zestfully comic play.

Didn’t enjoy this one. It was quite slow. We left before the end. Had hoped it to be funnier. I did however like the acting of the girlfriend

The story was a little slow at the start but it set the scene for the rest of the play. All the actors were brilliant especiall Janice. I found all characters believable and enjoyed the show very much. Would recommend.

Enjoyable; bit hard to hear dialogue at times as no mic but for the most part, the cast did the best with what they had.

We loved this comedic performance about relationships in all their complexities. The pace picked up after initial drawn-out dialogues and it became possible to becoming truly engaged with how various interplays were unfolding. All of the cast performed well to extremely well (Natalia playing Janice) providing a great nights entertainment.

Pace was slow and humour mixed. Enjoyed the energy of the cast but story line 'moral' message bait dated.

Very Slow moving. Quite a boring script. Struggled to stay to the end.

Charlie

An interesting play about love and relationships. The actors were great, but Natalia Nespeca playing Janice, the wife was brilliant. I think the background music needed to be a little softer when the actors were speaking. We enjoyed the play.

Kier

This is a bit of fun with a message if you get into it. It has a good cast, well staged and enthusiasm is shown by all.

Demon

Excellent cast revel in bringing their Italian American characters to larger than life. Nice story line with a twist in it's tail. Highly amusing and highly recommended.

Lynne

This is a play with big characters which while showing its age still has something to say. Staging is good and the music adds to trying create the Italian American vibe.

Timbos

An Italian American reconciliation presents as a relationship drama with a comedic underpinning resting upon Italian american sterio types. Everyone loves the genre, but it needs strong dialogue. Unfortunately the production never convinced me rarely hitting a believable note for the characters who seemed unsure of and unconvinced by their own dialogue. The piece is written in a gentle way and while it scores some points on the farce of human relationships, it provided neither enough revelation or distraction to be successful. Unmiked, the production would have benefited from some amplification to help engage the audience.

Very entertaining

Strong second act after a slow start. The script had more depth and character, yet we laughed more too.

An excellent venue.
