There is no other orchestra like the Australian World Orchestra (AWO), they’re a unique and unforgettable experience. Once a year the AWO comes to town, assembling Australia’s finest musicians from home and overseas to present exhilarating classical music performances. In their short history they have attracted some of the greatest conductors of our time including Sir Simon Rattle, maestros Zubin Mehta & Riccardo Muti.
Fresh from their second Indian concert tour and their 2018 concert season under the incomparable Maestro Riccardo Muti the Australian World Orchestra returns to Arts Centre Melbourne in 2019 under the baton of AWO Artistic Director Alexander Briger AO for one breathtaking performance at Hamer Hall on the 26th of July in a display of limitless talent.

What a pity that the AWO were performing for only one night in Melbourne. This was a stunning and exciting performance. The program was very interesting and with an orchestra made up of Australia's top musicians it was a thrilling performance of very dramatic works. i would have heartily reccommended it to others if they'd had an opportunity to go. More performances next year please ! IT was wonderful.

Really good! A great night and a great performance
Great performance, a great introduction to all three composers. I could hear the Moravian folk music in the Janáček, Leoš – Taras Bulba. Westlake got us off to a great start and mood for the more energetic pieces especially the Sibelius 2.

Such power and energy from Australia's global talent; just made us so proud. The Westlake score for the movie Paper Planes got things off to an impressive start. Loved the Janáček, Leoš – Taras Bulba, a Rhapsody for Orchestra with so much orchestral colour. The highlight was the Sibelius 2 that lept off the page with all that amazing energy.
