What Would Bill Murray Do? by David Tieck - Melbourne International Comedy Festival

What Would Bill Murray Do? by David Tieck - Melbourne International Comedy Festival

David Tieck, is a big fat absurdist, idiotic, stupid-faced, teddy bear-type person.

In this new hour of surreal silliness, David is officially promising to show off at least 37 totally weird, reckless and flippantly foolish ideas, as well possibly up to as many as one profound ideas.

After touring internationally with Two Little Dickheads, David Tieck returns with a solo show of high voltage nonsense, inspired by Bill Murray’s 'Let’s have some fun here' philosophy of life.

'Gorgeously weird.' Sometimes Melbourne

'Hairy and cuddly.' Chortle (UK)

'Can undoubtedly shred a guitar.' Lots Wife

Directed by Sharnema Nougar (Fringe Wives Club, Two Little Dickheads)

David Tieck is a comedian, improviser, clown, artist, musician and writer. He is one half of the acclaimed comedy duo Two Little Dickheads. He’s the former artistic director at Laugh Masters Academy, a member of the Melbourne Community Clown Troupe, was a Dandy Minion in Taylor Mac's: A 24 Decade History Of Popular Music at Melbourne Festival, and can be found performing at alternative comedy nights all over Melbourne. David is also a member of the The Spoon Monkeys with Hallie Goodman (Po Po Mo Co) and Tara Leigh Dowler (Taranoia) and Improv Against Humanity. His stunt journalism and humour pieces can be found regularly in the Herald Sun, at www.fleetingforever.com and on a variety of other online platforms.

Being silly is only funny if it's clever

I know he tried to make us feel happy with the 37 reckless ideas but they missed the mark and none were very funny.

Macarthur Park provides a fitting soundtrack for this absurdist fun. Tieck has energy and whimsy in equal measure. A good start to an evening's laughter.

If screaming at the audience, dick pics and ramblings are your thing you might enjoy it. I was disappointed on reading about the show it seemed interesting but did not find it very funny.

It started if well but hit a low mid way when crase lànguage was used and was hard to recover.
