Not a reflection of the event itself but this was our first exposure to opera and we found that it is not for us.

Amazing! I absolutely loved this production of La Traviata live from the London. Ermonela Jaho as Violeta was sublime. Her voice is magical and brought tears to my eyes.

'La Forza Del Destino' exemplifies utter belief in one's set destiny. From the initial accidental, tragic death of Leonora's father, both Leonora & Don Alvaro are haunted by this scene & its life-affecting consequences. Hostilities, conflicts, tensions & confrontations fill each Act, allowing for no love or forgiveness. Wall height, full-sized visuals of the fateful scene are replayed over & over, depicting each of the 3 main character's tortuous minds. We see, in this Opera, dogged persistence for revenge & an acceptance of the force of one's destiny as determining the quality of one's life.

A brilliant performance by Anna Netrebko & Jonas Kaufman!

What a great experience it was viewing the Royal Opera House, La Traviata. The cast was amazing and it was a privilege to see Placido Domingo perform. The Rivoli has a lovely atmosphere and provided an enjoyable day at the movies viewing Opera.

A wonderful performance by all with a standout performance from Ermonela Jaho as Violetta, Charles Castronovo as Alfredo Germont, and Plácido Domingo as Giorgio Germont. A famous opera by Verdi filmed live in London then broadcast around the world. A love story with a tragic ending, sung in Italian with helpful English subtitles. Also includes some short interviews with Placido Domingo ( who has played different roles in this opera over the years) the director and producer. It was well worth seeing and has interested me in the rest of the Live Cinema Series.
