Reading the Environment: Creating a Responsive Architecture
Architect Julian Brenchley will be familiar to many as the designer behind the television series The Block. Involved with the program since its inception, Julian’s most recent transformation was The Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda into residential apartments and 2019 will see him take on another local project in the Oslo Hotel.
Julian runs his own architectural practice in Sydney, with a strong emphasis on responsible design. Julian will discuss his philosophy and approach to designing buildings that are both enriching for the user and future proof.
This session is part of Inside Art and Architecture: A series of monthly talks to offer an engaging introduction to the often-hidden processes and worlds behind our built environment and artistic practice. Expand your knowledge of local architectural landmarks, explore sculptural creativity and engage in thought-provoking dialogue.
