The acclaimed Seraphim Trio returns to the Art Gallery of South Australia for a weekend feast of music, food and discussion on 10 and 11 November in the Radford Auditorium.
The Seraphim Trio of Anna Goldsworthy piano Timothy Nankervis cello and Helen Ayres on violin will expand to a piano quartet and quintet with guest artists Andrew Haveron (Sydney Symphony Concert master, violin) and Jacqui Cronin (Sydney symphony, viola), for a diverse weekend of chamber music, comprising three concerts of augmenting forces.
The first concert, entitled Romantics, takes place on Saturday 10 November at 6.00pm and comprises the Korngold Suite for two violins, cello & piano left hand, Op 23 and following refreshments including Coriole wine, Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat, Op 44 will be performed. The performances will be followed by a special three course Coriole Wine dinner with the Seraphim Trio, Andrew Haveron, Jacqui Cronin and guests from Coriole Vineyards in the Art Gallery Food+Wine Restaurant at 7.30pm.
The music continues on Sunday 11 November at 11.00am with performances of Mozart’s Piano Trio in G major, K 496; the Jakub Jankowski Trio Number 1 Silhouettes* and following morning tea/coffee ; Dvořák’s Piano Trio Op. 90, Dumky. * This Adelaide premiere performance was commissioned through the generosity of Graham Abbott.
Lunch at 1.00pm in the Art Gallery Food+Wine Restaurant will be followed by a free Art Gallery Tour and talk with Lisa Slade and at 3.00pm the Seraphim Trio and guest perform a concert entitled Classics, featuring the Mozart Piano Quartet in G minor, K 478 and Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F minor, Op 34.
