All publishing executive, Peter wants to do is enjoy the sunshine in central park when he’s interrupted by Jerry, a permanent transient down on his luck who wants to talk.
Looking for a meaningful conversation he strings Peter along; teasing him by hinting that he was involved in an incident at the zoo.
Implying that if he listens long enough he’ll find out what happened.
As Jerry tells Peter about his life their two worlds collide but, in the end, all everyone wants is for someone to listen to us…but how does simply listening become so dangerous? and what happened at the zoo?

Intensely engaging and outstanding performances, a thought provoking play.
Apparently a well known play...I didn't know it, so it was great to be exposed to it. Minimal set, sharp NYC accents, and once you put the of-its-time premise aside, very enjoyable.

Really well acted, quite deep, however I still don't know what happened at the zoo!
While I was watching Edward Albee’s, The Zoo Story, I realised how much I had missed theatre. It was a production with a deeper meaning. It explored human nature and our animal instincts. It made me think of world problems and how the people involved deal with them. It was excellent. Highly recommend!
