Karen Moreno sings traditional Venezuelan ‘tonadas llaneras’. In this concert, Karen pays tribute to the late Simon Diaz, singer and composer hailed as a national hero for his revival of "llanera" folk music of Venezuela. In this very personal take on the music of her roots, Karen will be accompanied by fellow Venezuelan musicians Daniel Jauregui, Alberto Escobar and Jesus Camacho on traditional cuatro and harp to bring the special and beautiful tonadas to Melbourne. Full of heart and joy (even if you don't speak Spanish!)
Venezuelan Community Concert with folk songs in Spanish, which most in the audience knew the words of. Pleasant but would be more so for those who come from that part of the world and speak Spanish
it was great performance. perfect skilled at guitar and good singer.
I enjoyed the event even though in some ways I would have preferred if the audience did not sing along! Karen Moreno has a lovely voice and the musicians were great. The music was bery enjoyable.
