Torch Song Trilogy

Torch Song Trilogy

About the play
All good things come in threes.
A heart felt revival of Harvey Fierstein’s classic play with music.

Funny and poignant, Harvey Fierstein’s intensely personal collection of three plays chronicles a Jewish New York drag-queen’s quest for love, respect and a life of which he can be proud.

From a failed affair with a reluctant lover, to a burgeoning relationship with a young fashion model, Arnold Beckoff’s greatest torment in life remains his turbulent relationship with his mother.

In celebration of Darlinghurst Theatre Company’s 25th Anniversary, we continue our longstanding tradition of telling LGBTQI stories with the reprisal of director Stephen Colyer’s 2013 critically acclaimed Torch Song Trilogy.

Very good. Definitely worth seeing.

Overall I absolutely loved it, a mix of theatre and cabaret. It is long, if the first act wasn't so slow to start (I felt them dressing for the drag show was unnecessary to the overall story) I would give it 5 stars. The acting was outstanding as were the last 2 acts.

Absolutely loved it.
It was long (which I only heard on the way in) but I was engaged the whole time so it didn’t feel long. perfectly placed and timed intervals. Very clever and well executed.

Great singing & acting. This is a long play so the actors are to be congratulated for their stamina & memory in remembering their lines.

wonderful story, well performed, with a very touching ending.
Brace yourself it's quite an epic though, the cast sure did well to keep the energy up throughout

I was at the first preview. The first act needed some work but the second and third acts were brilliant. Well worth seeing.
