The Cheese Dome at Bastille Festival Sydney

The Cheese Dome at Bastille Festival Sydney

4 DAY ONLY POP UP FRENCH RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE
This 90-minute immersive experience will instantly transport you to the French Alps, where you’ll enjoy an all-you-can-eat session of France’s two most popular melted cheese favourites, La Fondue and La Raclette. Inside The Cheese Dome, you will have to order in French (but don’t worry, all the key phrases will be written out to help you along – plus it’s awesome fun asking for something in a foreign language.)

Multi-sensory French immersive experience
The temperature inside The Cheese Dome is chilled to a brisk 14℃, which is comparable to a nice winter’s day in the French Alps, so it’s recommended the Aussies come dressed in something warm. The curved walls surrounding the space will come alive with themed projections, using the most advanced 360°projected virtual reality system in the world (there are currently only 20 units of this projector available anywhere, and this is the first time it’s been seen in Australia). A programmed audio and lighting show will enhance the visual experience, so one moment you’re flying through clouds and over mountain ranges, then diving into a Matrix-like wormhole, or sitting inside a frozen igloo.

French Cheeses and Wines : “Joie de vivre”
The 15 metre wide, 7 metre tall, white geodesic dome will house the biggest and most immersive French fondue & raclette pop-up restaurant, with wines from the French Alps curated to pair perfectly with the cheeses from the mountains.

This experience will feature a traditional and very popular French fondue game. When someone accidentally drops their tasty piece of bread in the hot liquid cheese, the first person to spot it shakes a large mountain bell and chooses from a variety of dares or challenge.

This very unique, 90 minute Cheese Dome experience is best shared with a group of friends, your family, or work mates, because socialising with the people you love over a shared meal of free-flowing melted cheese is what the French call “La joie de vivre.”

VLP

A great concept and the service was attentive and the wines were good but the food was rather disappointing.
