Clownbaby - Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Clownbaby - Melbourne International Comedy Festival

Ross dreams of entering show business to help positively shape the minds of the masses and sets forth to go from Clownbaby to Clownman.

He however soon finds himself on a journey facing off against the double-sided nature of influence, infinite liquid knowledge, corporate culture, a maybe or maybe not dead Ryan Gosling and Dominos Pizza.

Ross Purdy presents a full DIY multimedia experience. Visceral, surrealist, punk comedy pushed to its absolute breaking point.

Not stand-up. Not sketch. Not theatre. Not a comedy show for normal people.

Interesting.... in parts . Did I laugh .. not really ( just not my kind of humour I gues) Ross puts in effort however the show drags on in parts. I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Scripting was mostly clever and interesting but some parts were too drawn out. Not sure how to categorise this but I would say it's more satire/drama than comedy - not a lot to laugh at. Ross does put in a lot of effort, but delivery could use some work and his 'outfit' didn't make sense to me (think dirty, smelly old homeless man). This is the first show I really haven't had much positive to say - perhaps I missed something but I can't recommend this one. However, high marks for effort and an interesting take on things - I think Ross could do some good things in the future.

Worth it for the graphic of Malcolm Turnbull and the possums alone. Ross is fearless!

Ross is clever and full of energy. He put in a tremendous fast pace, funny performance. His jokes are somewhat satire but we enjoyed his show overall.

not sure about this performance it was a bit weird. In the beginning it was funny. But started to drag in the second half and lost content. The graphic depicted in the advertising doesn't really reflect the show. Not gory at all. Just a bit of a laugh. This one I'm sitting on the fence.

Ross Purdy - not sure I want to sit near him at work or next to him on a flight but for 60 minutes he had us squirming and laughing and thinking. He's super clever and has a dig and people who deserve to be dug at. So worth it.
