The spectacular grand finale world premiere of the Sir Charles Mackerras Waltzing Matilda Fugue scored for eight pianos and organ promises to mark a rare moment in Australia’s music history.
The eight pianists pay tribute to Percy Grainger before performing a dazzling array of work from the classical repertoire including Ravel’s Bolero, the final movement of the Organ Symphony by Saint-Saens, a four piano arrangement from Gounod’s Faust and the Die Fledermaus Overture by Strauss.
