The Laramie Project

The Laramie Project

Melbourne's oldest community theatre company is proud to present our final 2017 production ... THE LARAMIE PROJECT. With only 5 performances (28 Sept - 1 Oct) this is a show not to be missed.

The Laramie Project comprises of monologues and dialogue based on hundreds of interviews, news reports and court transcripts taken from the people of Laramie after the brutal death of Matthew Shepard. Matthew was a 21 year old University of Wyoming student who was kidnapped in 1998, severely beaten, tortured and tied to a fence to die – all because he was gay. His battered body was found the next day and he died in hospital shortly afterwards.

The Laramie Project is both an uplifting illustration of the human mind and spirit, and a tragic outline of the ways in which ignorance can often blind us.

NOTE: This is a special GRAND FINAL DAY offer and is only applicable to our performances at 2pm & 8pm on Saturday 30th September.

Full Price listed is for a double pass. You may take up single tickets.

An amazing team of excellent actors, believable accents, telling a compelling story. Impressive that this was the second show for the day - great stamina too. Thanks.
