Model Citizens seamlessly blends the risk and beauty of breathtaking physical improbability with theatricality, choreography and Circus Oz’s distinct brand of Australian humour.
Stunningly lit and driven by a sensational live music soundtrack, Model Citizens unfolds within a cleverly designed model-kit world that challenges perspective, scale and concepts of normality.
In Model Citizens over-sized, everyday objects are used as unexpected circus equipment that create an intriguing new playground for the all-human ensemble.
Acrobats will back-flip off a giant vertical clothes peg, become tangled in an oversized cotton reel, balance on a house of oversized collapsing cards and fly high in an enormous pair of aerial undies!
Exposing circus skills in unconventional ways, Model Citizens presents stunning group acrobatics with a twist. Model Citizens is a visually and emotionally charged journey by the multi-talented Circus Oz ensemble, which explores what it really means to be a model citizen in today’s ‘model kit’ society.

Felt like they hadn't worked out how to integrate the old Circus Oz with the new : politics stuck out like a sore thumb. Central character weak but a couple of good acts.. Not like the good old days

While some of the acts were impressive, I didn't really feel there was a consistent theme / story line. It just felt like a series of random events / acts.
Also, what's with the ranodm nudity when it is promoted as a family show?

We loved it!Amazing talent! But most of the performances were directed so that the best viewing was all from one particular area. Would have been better for more people if they also turned some of their acts in other directions (if they had the time?)

Seats were side-on to a fair bit of the action, which was a little unfortunate. Story could develop a bit more. This aside, it was good to see some novel variations on routines.

My husband and I were among the more mature members of a very diverse audience and we absolutely loved the show. Their independent acrobatic agility, strength, musicality, amazing coordination of the troupe, to say nothing of the humour in the production made for wonderful viewing and the players open friendliness towards the audience, set them apart from many theatrical performances. All involved in Circus Oz can take a bow!

I've been lucky enough to see many Circus Oz performances; this was enjoyable and skilful but not as polished or cohesive as previous years. Still worthwhile attending if you're new to circus!
Athletic, acrobatic, creative and sometimes edgy modern circus that tips its hat to more tradtional feats, each performer gets a chance to shine as well as performing in unison. The music, moody lighting and venue creates a fun and whimsical night out.

2017 new seasons show #ModelCitzen is a combo of a sinister social outlook, mind blowing acrobatic stunts, funky tunes and polished bogan humour AMAZING!! Experiance leveled up when Nutella donuts and wine got involved
Talented acts, however not a polished act and some acts are over worked.
