WHITELEY is a visual journey into the life and legacy of one of Australia’s most celebrated artists, Brett Whiteley. The story, told in Brett’s own voice, opens a rare window into an artist’s mind.
While his brief, dazzling life was erratic, combustible and tragic, Whiteley also created a highly productive and brilliant artistic vortex around which much of our 70s and 80s sense of self-worth as an aggressively creative nation emerged. The documentary features over four decades of archival footage and includes never before seen interviews and notebooks.

Sad, arresting, moving, iconic!
Very good doco on (probably) Australia's greatest painter of modern times. It used archive, re-enactments, interviews and lots of interesting motion graphics and was overall very well edited and put together. The talk by Wendy was intimate and insightful (thanks Wendy!). Well worth seeing for anyone interested in Art.

A fascinating look at Brett Whiteley's work and life. Maybe rather skewed towards the Wendy days, but she was and is the contributor to his legacy.
Very filmic documentary. Well paced and insightful into the life of a talent that all too briefly flashed meteor like through the art world.
For any Whiteley fan or a lover of Australian art this documentary is a must see. Gave an insight to Brett and Wendys life 'in his own words' with a great catalogue of work featured including some rare and early works.
