RUST AND BONE

RUST AND BONE

“Time was I had strong hands. Now they’ve been broken so many times the bones are like teacups in a sack. You get one hard shot before they shatter.”

Three men, three stories; a potent and arresting exploration of masculinity.

An injured boxer fights on to atone for past sins. A young killer whale trainer comes face to face with death. A dog fighter discovers fatherhood in the most unexpected of places.

Adapted from the book of short stories by Craig Davidson, playwright Caleb Lewis offers up a brutal world of broken gods and sinuous monsters in this taut and gripping Victorian premiere.

Though it's a challenge to follow three stories told in parrallel, the delivery is superb with each performer excelling. Overall it was a very professional production which I found mesmerising and powerful. Very enjoyable.
