Skilfully blending animation, archival footage and contemporary interview, director Yair Qedar has constructed an invaluable and timeless resource that brings to life a trove of influential Jewish writers and their works.

Zelda: A Simple Woman / 55 MIN
Niece of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Zelda lived in solitude in Jerusalem, writing poems on pieces of paper. She published her first book of poetry at the age of 53 and became a prominent figure in the field of Hebrew literature. Through never-before-seen archival footage and interviews with her lovers and friends, the film gently sketches a portrait of the first religious female poet.

Mrs Bluwstein / 58 MIN
A documentary reflecting upon the life of Hebrew poet Rachel Bluwstein, known simply as Rachel. Including interviews with literary researchers, poets, historians, and biographers, this film weaves together a portrait of a national poet of Israel.
