Massaging Himmler: A Concert. Poignant interweaving of poems and piano

Massaging Himmler: A Concert. Poignant interweaving of poems and piano

The story of Dr Felix Kersten is a remarkable true story, an archetypal story of the meeting of good and evil. But who is this relatively unknown man?

Dr Felix Kersten was masseur to Heinrich Himmler, one of the most feared high ranking Nazis, head of the Gestapo and the SS. Dr Kersten used his therapeutic expertise to gain influence over Himmler, allowing him to secure the release of tens, possibly hundreds of thousands of people.

Poems from 'Massaging Himmler: A poetic biography of Dr Felix Kersten’ are combined with the whole set of 10 Preludes Rachmaninov Opus 23.

A beautiful rendition of Rachmaninov's preludes by the pianist. An interesting and often humourous insight into a man I had never heard of before but will remember now.....wonderfully written and eloquently read. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience! Thank you.

Fascinating story presented in an interesting manner. Education, poetry, theatre & music to tell a story most of us would have been ignorant of. Greatly appreciate the opportunity to attend.

Powerful and fascinating story with poems by Anne M Carson, sonorously delivered by Jerzy Kozlowski, interspersed by the challenging 10 Preludes of Rachmaninov. Thankyou - this was a wonderful experience in a beautiful space in Queens College.
