Captivating & moving. Absolutely brilliant show!

I didn't find the play to really be about any struggle. It was more autobiographical and didn't explore the issues you would think one would face being in the position of Asher lev.
All said, the acting was marvellous!!! Different play, same actors and it would have been a completely different review. I did enjoy learning about the Jewish culture and that was my favourite part.

Beautifully characterised. Issues still current today. Blumenthal was superb again in capturing the emotional anguish. Great theatre to discover!

Captivating. Without any melodrama the play draws you in with its universal theme of individual versus family expectations.
Fabulous theatre - a really beautiful building and a very interesting programme of plays.

A thoughtful examination of th issues of growing up with a passion that defies your society's social norms. Not overly dramatic, but it makes you think. Acting was well done. Lovely theatre. - get there early enough to try the desserts!
