TWENTYSIXTEEN is a refreshing cocktail of new and old, innovation and tradition. The turbo-charged acrobats have been training like demons to bring amazing new skill and wizardry to the flying trapeze, the Chinese pole and unicycle adagio. A brand new group-juggling act is sure to drop jaws as 21 clubs duck and weave from acrobat to acrobat, whist new performers juggle seven balls and support the whole ensemble by literally lifting them off the floor – all at once. Rumour also has it, that the fabulous Circus Oz comic genius, who brought Fantaysia Fitness to life, may be back in action, splitting sides and wetting pants from start to finish.
In TWENTYSIXTEEN Circus Oz stays true to their grass roots creative process, delivering a surprising and inventive show created through the collaboration, experience and inspiration of the Circus Oz ensemble and artistic team. This is high-voltage acrobatics and explosive aerial antics all accompanied by the sensational Circus Oz band. TWENTYSIXTEEN is classic Circus Oz: absurd Australian larrikins pushing the boundaries of possibility and defying the laws of physics.
Guest Show Director Anni Davey explains that her inspiration comes directly from the artform itself: its rawness and its authenticity. “The circus exists in everyone’s imagination and for some people that imaginary space is their real world. In the circus there is no editing, no replay button, no seven-second delay, no CGI, no sequencing, no sampling, no trickery – it is just really great tricks. The circus is real people doing extraordinary stuff. It’s inspiring to watch because it pushes people to question what is possible. Watching this latest offering from Circus Oz was an amazing experience. It is such a quintessentially Australian production with its cheeky irreverent humour mixed with such incredible physical theatre and musicality. Given Circus Oz was donating the proceeds to charity just raises my respect and adoration for them even higher. Highly recommended!

Amazing the way they can transform a simple circus act into a culture filled socially currentcurrent performance piece, OUTSTANDING. Went with my 4 year old wo was glues to the stage from start to finish, fun for all ages.

Tremendous high energy show
I was pleasantly surprised not to see the "run of the mill" circus line up with hula hoops and motorcycles. Incredible energy and athleticism, great music, great stage production that kept us riveted!
Seats were fantastic. Thanks On the house! The performance however was just alright. Not overly impressive. Perhaps it's a bad night where the performers made mistakes and had to try the tricks again. But the cast and audience including costumes were marvellous. Everyone had fun including myself :)

Really enjoyed the show. I hadn't been to a circus in many years & to see how they have changed was amazing no animal, no clowns as such very good comedians. Very multi-talented acrobatic team. Costumes great. So much energy. My husband 83 & me 75 had a great night out!

This was actually my first circus event I been to! My partner had a really good time. Many laughs and very impressive acrobatic acts indeed! The music was soo lively and totally rocked!Something the whole family can enjoy :D

It was soooo good! Great for a wide range of ages with comedy, entertainment, a GREAT band and of course acrobatics and feats of strength. The music was spot on and added so much to the show. We went on a cold, rainy night and the tent was nice and warm. Really impressed by it all. Go see it!
My daughter and I loved this show. The performers were so talented and it was pure entertainment!! Skilful, funny, engaging... the crowd gave them a standing ovation at the end of the show and they thoroughly deserved it!

This was 100% non stop entertainment. Live music the performers were amazing athletic and quite awesome to watch. For such a small stage team it was great to see how effective a small circus can be. Would go see it again and again. Loved every minute of the performance

Very talented performers, great stunts, eye-catching costumes. Well worth seeing. My only criticism is that whilst one of the MC's was very funny, the other repeated the same kind of jokes and slapstick humour, though she did have her funny moments too.

The music was great and enhanced the impact of the acts. Whilst there was some really impressive performances, we felt that there were too many "filler" acts and overall the show lacked sophistication.

Youthful, energetic, a little crazy and really impressive feats. I left very happy with the show and would readily recommend it.

I've always wanted to see Circus Oz and finally got around to it. Certainly not disappointed as it was absolutely awesome. I missed bits and pieces of the acrobatics etc as I was fascinated with the band's expertise. I look forward to their next tour. Great job from everyone from the fabulous performers to the ushers etc.

Off beat fun entrtainment
This was a truly amazing experience I braught my eight year old son and he was enthralled by the whole event. The stunts were truly breathtaking especially the dream scene, but don't want to give too much away you have to see it for yourself.
Good fun night. The second half was amazing.

Had the pleasure of attending my first 'On the House' event last night . started with a slight mishap of getting the date wrong it was all uphill from there!. What an amazing display of energy , comedy , skill and focus. What a talented bunch of people... the diversity of the team was breathtaking. Not only were they gymnastic professionals but they displayed their musical prowess on instruments as well.
For me, the fact that there was live background music throughout the show topped the ratings for me . BY FAR the best entertainment event I have attended this year.
Congratulation to this wonderfully talented group of people.

Fabulous night's entertainment as usually is the case with the Circus Oz team. In addition to the comments and reviews about the great feats, athleticism and skills - a couple of practical notes.
1. If you're picking up tickets at the box office DO arrive extra early (more than 30 minutes). While it's warm inside the ticket queue extends well out into the cold - so rug up!
2. I disagree with the comments that it's an all ages family show and would not recommend it for very young children. Some of the comedy pushes the family boundaries AND it's a long late show. Get a baby sitter and leave the tired little ones at home so the show can be enjoyed by ALL who attend.
Fantastic show, very talented performers, funny, engaging and entertaining. Highly recommend everyone of all ages see this awesome production.
What an amazing night of pure entertainment! The incredible cast of characters that combined the strengths of circus perfection with the beauty and grace of classical dance, the comedy timing of any of the greatest clowns and the timeless musical magic that only entertainment like this can deliver. The energy and enthusiasm that came from the stage was contagious and left us all exhausted but still wanting more at the end of the 2 hour show. The ingenious journey that the show took the audience on left us gasping with wonder, laughing out loud and holding our breath in anticipation and sometimes, all at once. It is without doubt one of the best nights entertainment I have enjoyed in a long time and would highly recommend it to everyone. This is truly something that Melbourne should be sooooo proud to call their own!Thank you On The House!

This was a great performance. It was intimate, funny and entertaining. The artists were talented and the some of the stunts were amazing- there was a lady standing on a mans head while they both changed clothing! I would highly recommend this show. It was abit naughty too so not sure if its really for the very young though.

Nice and warm in the heated tent. Was a wonderful mid weeknight out. The comedy was hilarious and very silly. The fitness and skill was crazy and impressive. Highly recommend this for a fun night out!

An incredible night that was continuously entertaining. There were many heart-stopping moments, great displays of strength, gymnastic skill and bravery as well as great choreography and showmanship.

There has never been a better time to see the Circus. True innovators, showcasing their Acrobatic skills, Levitation and Psychic abilities, Juggling, Aerial Trapeze, Unicycling all backed up by an extraordinary band. Circus Oz are a unique blend of gifted artists who will have you gasping for breath, laughing out loud and clapping rapturously. Do yourself a favour and get along to Circus Oz's TWENTYSIXTEEN.
Fabulous local stage production from Melbourne of acrobatics, strength, precision timing, humour, music and especially levitation which was the theme of the night! :) Enjoyed the show from start to finish and really liked the acrobatics around the piano, the trapeze acts, team juggling and strength of vertical acrobatics. This is a show not to be missed!
Absolutely phenomenal! I was speechless. Live music all the way through with talented acrobatics! It was fresh, alive and entertaining! You could see how passionate they were and I loved every bit of it. Being a musician, this show promoted the arts musically theatrically, and acrobatically! WOW! I have never seen anything like it! The only complaint was that it was quite cold in the tent and I saw a lot of people shivering. So just lift the heating. Other than that a 99.9% night out! Awesome!
