Ingrid Taylor-Moss is determined to discover, like, what it means to be beautiful?
To be beautiful, we must pluck, wax, lather, smoother, dress, impress, repress? What for? And, why do we even care? What happens to our dignity? Is that ugliness? Does holding it in such high esteem skewer our morals? How much time and money do we have to spend altering who we are?
So she asked her conspirators, friends... anyone, and (that failing) the internet for their personal experiences. And these 500 responses were distilled into 50 minutes and 5 actors. This isn't just an intellectual pursuit. Beauty leaks into our deepest emotional needs of wanting to be wanted.
With a mixture of delivering the truth and taking the piss, she is joined by the most talented people she knows. Part live theatre, part recording and projection, we will show you more than just our pretty faces.
