The highly acclaimed Acacia Quartet is known for its versatile and inventive programs which often couple established repertoire with the unorthodox. Their final 'ACACIA Presents...' program for 2015 will include the world premiere of ‘The Man in the Other Room’ by Australian composer Ross Fiddes with text by Samantha Fiddes, his daughter. This intriguing song cycle, about a woman’s love and loss, comprises seven songs for soprano and string quartet featuring the multi award-winning Australian/Turkish soprano Ayşe Göknur Shanal.
Ayşe Göknur Shanal is “a soprano gifted with a voice of great beauty.... she has the ability to hold an audience with both the intensity of her performance and her musicianship”.

Also on the program is one of Mozart's most celebrated compositions, his lyrical yet dramatic String Quartet in D minor K.421 dedicated to his mentor Joseph Haydn, followed by two beautiful works,‘Tenebrae’ for string quartet and ‘How Slow The Wind’ for voice and strings by Argentinian/Jewish composer Osvaldo Golijov,who is known for his special ethereal and 'other-worldly' tones.
Rather small audience this time, seems to be the ramifications of Acacia increasing their ticket prices.
