"I am proud to announce that Adelaide’s inaugural Guitar Chamber Music Festival will be presenting three exciting concerts to Adelaide and McLaren Vale audiences. Thanks to the generous support of the University of Adelaide’s Elder Conservatorium of
Music and Kay Brothers Winery, it has been my great pleasure to orchestrate this celebration of chamber music for the world’s most popular instrument. For me the interaction and collaboration with others has always been the most exciting part of music-making. While the classical guitar has gained much recognition over the last century, generally it has always struck me that chamber music with guitar is too often overlooked by performers and audiences alike. With a mission to address this, the festival will not only present all-time repertoire favourites and hidden gems, but also the world premiere of a new composition by Stephen Whittington. I look forward to seeing you at this three-day feast of music, wine and food at Elder Hall and Kay Brothers Winery."
