THE ROAD TO WOODSTOCK

THE ROAD TO WOODSTOCK

This story is about the rise of Joan Baez from folk singer, to performing the songs of Bob Dylan and Peter Seager, all culminating in her brilliant performance at Woodstock in 1969.

Joan became the voice of the peace movement with songs like ‘Joe Hill’, ‘We Shall Overcome’, ‘With God On Our Side’ and many more. All will be sung in this show.

The Road To Woodstock is the story of one woman’s commitment to the peace movement and the music that accompanied it.

The play also features Janis Joplin with her songs of the sixties.

Very enjoyable. Lady playing Joan had lovely voice - not sure she quite captured her style but good anyway. Janis was a hoot. Great, versatile musicians

Congratulations to Neil Cole on his sensitive and nostalgic interpretation of the Road to Woodstock. Singing We Shall Overcome at the end with the audience lead by "Joan" was a highlight.

Show evoked thoughts of it being difficult to practice what you preach. The lead singer really focused on part of the audience which can foster an uncomfortable feeling. There were great songs performed with Blowing in the wind and Piece of my heart and this was the best part of the night. The guitar playing was great.

Oniric musical ride in the 60s and across th pacifist movement.
Memorable Jasins Joplin impersonification and interpretation.

Something for those that remember Woodstock & the 60s. Not so sure it will be as engaging for younger generations.

Very enjoyable night with 60s songs to acoustic music. The 'play' was more like a dialogue as there was not much acting. Janis Joplin was a scream!

The musicians and the support singer were good. The main actress however had a weak, operatic style voice that was not really Joan Baez style at all. Quite disappointing really.
When the support singer sang some Janice Joplin , the show really picked up. It's a shame she was only given 3 songs. Wouldn't really recommend this show for anyone the way it is .
