The Laugh Stand Gala: Mick Meredith & Gen Fricker

The Laugh Stand Gala: Mick Meredith & Gen Fricker

We have a toe-tappin’, knee-slappin’ edition of our Comedy Gala on Tues 28 April at Sydney’s original home of comedy, Harold Park Hotel, with two acclaimed stand-up comedians known for breaking out into a song, or two, or three.

Your Headliner is Mick Meredith, one of Australia’s most in-demand comics and leading musical comedy acts, with appearances all over Australia and internationally. Mick is one of the most sought after corporate comics, as well as a beloved, powerhouse, comedy club sensation, and the proud creator of several hilarious and very Aussie music videos.

Mick has appeared on film, TV and radio, including; ‘The NRL Footy Show’, ‘Mornings with Kerri-Anne’, ‘Thursday Night Live’, ‘Joker Poker’, The Comedy Channel, ‘Stand Up Australia’, Triple M, and feature films ‘Bloody Hell’ and ‘Footy Legends’. He also has the honour of being a featured comedian on the NRL Footy Show’s ‘Best of the Comedians’ DVDs 1 and 2. Three tours with the Australian Armed Forces to the Middle East and East Timor have been the highlights of Mick’s near two-decade career.

Your Emcee is Gen Fricker, who has quickly become one of the brightest young stars on the national comedy circuit, with her unique blend of sassy stand up and dark musical experimentation, all delivered with a butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-her-mouth smile.

Since making her comedy debut in 2011, as a national finalist in the Triple J Raw Comedy competition, Gen has sold out seasons of solo shows at the Melbourne, Perth and Sydney Comedy Festivals, as well as appearing at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival and Splendour in The Grass. In 2014, Gen opened nationally for big-time US comic Reggie Watts on his 2014 ‘Hello Humans’ tour. Gen has appeared on ‘Spicks and Specks’ and ‘Legally Brown’, was a columnist for the Sydney Morning Herald, worked as a writer/performer on ABC 2’s ‘The Roast’ (Season 2) and Triple J’s ‘Chatback with Tom Ballard’, and currently presents on Triple J.

Mick and Gen are joined by Umit Bali, a rising star in Australian comedy and a favourite at Sydney comedy clubs. A former illegal immigrant, now Australian citizen; Umit hits the stage so excitable and dedicated to making audiences laugh that he has to pace himself just to get through his set. Umit is definitely one to watch.

The Laugh Stand Comedy Gala also features: Greta Lee Jackson (‘Skit Box’), Lee Lewis, Matt Reddy and Ruven Govender!

All for only $15 online or $20 at the door!

PLUS!! 2 for 1 meals and a $5 beer special!!
